NEEDED; A KAPITI GREY POWER REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE KAPITI HEALTH ADVOCACY GROUP
A retired health professional – Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, Nurse, Doctor- who is interested in Older Peoples health provision on the Kapiti Coast. The Kapiti Health Advocacy Group (KHAG) was established by Mayor Gurunathan and is chaired by Kathy Spiers. Paraparaumu /Raumati Community Board. KHAG make recommendations to the Mayor. Grey Power has been asked to nominate a member to the Executives of KHAG. You will need some health background and be available attend a monthly meeting starting January 2019. Kāpiti Coast has been confirmed as eligible to make applications to the Provincial Growth Fund – a fund which looks to enhance economic development opportunities in regional New Zealand.
The Council are hosting a public meeting with the Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), to discuss how the Kāpiti community can work together to identify opportunities for Kāpiti through the Fund. This meeting is on 30 October, 7pm at the Te Newhanga Community Centre, 15 Ngahina Street, Paraparaumu.
